The NBA playoffs are the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association’s season where the top eight teams in the league face off against each other to determine the league’s champion. The NBA was established in 1949 but because of the merge between two leagues, the Basketball Association of America (BAA) and National Basketball League (NBL), the first three seasons are not recognized, therefore the first NBA Playoff didn’t occur till 1952.

This year’s playoffs has been very interesting starting with Western Conference matchups such as Warriors vs. Clippers, Rockets vs. Jazz, Trail Blazers vs. Thunder, Nuggets vs. Spurs, and Eastern Conference matchups such as Bucks vs. Pistons, Celtics vs. Pacers, 76ers vs. Nets, and Raptors vs. Magic. After a month of play we are left with four teams in the semi-finals, these four teams are the Warriors, Trail Blazers, Raptors, and Bucks.

The Warriors are the favorite to win the NBA Championship seeing as though they have multiple All-Stars and they are coming off back to back championships. In a interview held here at CASHS with senior Daquan Rodgers, I asked him how he felt about the playoffs and who he think would end up victorious his response was “I think the playoffs have been very exciting up until this point, I think for the most part this is where most thought the playoffs would be. I think there is a lot more excitement to come with these four teams competing for a championship. I myself feel that the warriors will 3-peat, if not the Raptors and Kawhi Leonard are my runner ups”. As you can see the NBA playoffs are heating up, get out and watch a game or two, you won’t regret it.
