Friday, September 6th the Chambersburg Trojans football were hosted by the Red Lion Lions. Going into the game each of the two teams were undefeated and well respected in their conferences sitting at a steady 2-0. The game began very slow for both teams with the score being 7-0 (Chambersburg) at halftime. The only first half points were scored by senior quarterback Brady Stumbaugh on a one yard QB sneak followed by an Extra Point by Tyler Luther.

After halftime, both teams took the field with very high energy, on the opening drive Chambersburg forced the Lions to go three and out and put them in what looked to be a definite punt situation in which the lions countered and faked into a pass for an 86 yard touchdown. From that point forward it became a shootout between the two teams in which the lions prevailed in a 26-21 victory over the Trojans.

Overall the Trojans played a well rounded game offensively massing a total of 367 yards with 205 coming on the ground on 32 carries and 162 through the air on 9-25 passing. In an interview with junior running back Jayden Jones he quoted “Although we lost, we still have a long season ahead of us and we are just focusing on getting better and perfecting our craft for the weeks to come”.  The Trojans will look to get back on track next week September 13th as they host Altoona for their 4th game of the season.
