Stephen King is a name that everyone knows. He’s written tons of horror books like The Shining, IT, and Pet Sematary.

Over the summer, I read a few books that were on my ‘To Read’ list. I read one of King’s most famous books: ‘Salem’s Lot. I never read a King novel before, but I knew his genre was horror/thriller. I was super excited to start reading his book and was not disappointed.

The book is about a man, Ben Mears, returning to Jerusalem’s (‘Salem’s) Lot after many years away. He hopes to unlock the secrets of the Marsten House, which has a haunting and tragic backstory, for his new book and to defeat personal demons. Everything goes normally for awhile. He meets a woman, Susan, who he falls for and many other friends while revisiting the town. Unfortunately, not long after Ben returns, two little boys go into the woods with only one surviving. The town is tossed into the forces of darkness and only Ben can stop it.

I loved reading ‘Salem’s Lot! It was full of twists and turns, creepiness, and classic horror. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Stephen King or anyone who just wants to read a horror book.
