Dabo Swinney signed the biggest contact for a college football coach in history. That contract is a well earned 10yr/$92mil deal. He also has incentives with that as well such as; Coach of the year(+$50,000), winning a national championship(+$250,000), and for winning the ACC championship(+$200,000). Dabo has led the Clemson Tigers to 3 national championships in the past 3 years and they have won 2 of them. Both times they beat the prestigious Alabama University. This past year, they not only beat Alabama, they destroyed them with the final score ending to be 44-16. Although, Dabo’s path to success has not been all roses and national championships. Dabo took some real heat for benching long time Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant and replacing him with the true freshman Trevor Lawrence. Kelly Bryant started out the season for Clemson and did not lose a game. Dabo felt something different and he started Trevor Lawrence. It was a risky move, but all of the great coaches in the past have made risky moves and it pays off. Especially in this situation, it paid off greatly. Trevor Lawrence is now projected to be top 10 in the NFL draft and he is only a sophomore. Most NCAA Division I athletes complete three years in college before entering their name into the NFL draft. Today, the Clemson Tigers are 11-0 and are ranked #3 in the country behind Ohio State and LSU. Dabo Swinney is still building the brand of Clemson Football as they try to compete for another NCAA National Championship.
